Sinkhole Trail at Leon Sinks
photo
Went out with the wife and kids to Leon Sinks  again yesterday. This time we hiked the Sinkhole Trail, going counter clockwise.  The kids were well behaved, and we made good time (for us), completing the 3 miles in 1.5 hrs.  I took a number of pictures along the way, and uploaded them last night to my webshots page.  While reading the Leon Sinks page on the website today, I realized that some of the information was out of date, or incomplete, so I did some extensive editing on it. The most important change was noting that the fees have gone up to $3 (and may go up to $5 soon).

New Trip Reports
photo

I've added lots of Trip Reports to the website, including one for the backpacking trip I did with my son this past weekend. We went to Torreya and had a really good time.

I'll be hiking Bradwell Bay this weekend, so look for a TR on that next week.

Morning Walk at Leon Sinks

DW and I took the kids out to Leon Sinks Saturday for a morning stroll. Now that the weather is cooling, we're going to start hiking again. We took the Gum Swamp trail clockwise, and came back on the Crossover trail. The kids did very well on the hike. We promised them a treat for good behavior, and dire consequences for bad. They got the treat: ice cream bars from a convenience store. Mom and I passed on the treat, as it would have defeated a major purpose in walking.

View photos from the hike.
